Stump grinding
Two machines, minimal disruption — we remove stumps to below-ground level so you can replant or landscape straight away.
Tree stumps can be left in the ground after felling and covered with sprawling plants, but this often leads to suckering — new shoots arising from the trunk and roots. Completely dead stumps can also play host to root diseases such as honey fungus and aren’t worth leaving in.
How we work
We have two stump grinding machines that remove stumps to well below ground level. The equipment causes minimal disturbance and leaves the ground ready for replanting or landscaping.
- Access through a minimum gap of 30 inches
- Any size of stump — from a few inches up to the largest stump imaginable
- Roots treated to aid decomposition where appropriate
- Site left clean, tidy and ready for the next stage
For infected stumps we recommend grinding out and burning the debris, then filling with new topsoil and planting with annuals or herbaceous perennials.
